My Review By
I recently received the Soda Stream to review for you, and I personally love it! I am a soda lover, however I do call it “POPâ€, which causes many arguments amongst friends. I love that it uses Sucralose (Splenda brand), instead of real sugar to keep the calories down in my consumption. No one needs all those extra nasty sugar calories creeping up on us. The flavor selection alone that I was sent to review was just unimaginable! I have already fallen in love with the Fountain Mist! I have been a “Dew Girl†most of my life and Diet Dew Girl for the past 15 yrs! I, however have had issues with Diet Dew with the chemical in it called Phenylanine, my Gastro Dr. told me to lay off the Diet sodas, sugar free lemonades, kool aids etc as they all have this chemical and it just ripped my stomach apart making my GERD a whole lot less easy to control. I need my caffeine tho, and I am not a coffee drinker AT ALL! So having the SodaStream here to try was a blessing in disguise! I honestly couldn’t tell the difference in the cola vs Coke, my hubby said it needed a little extra burst of carbonation as it went flat faster then the other flavors did. (This however, could be only because he is addicted to over use of EVERYTHING!)
We have tried over 12 different flavors of Soda made with the Soda Stream and I am impressed with them all! I have already gone to Wal Mart and bought more of the Fountain Mist and Cola flavorings, which retail for $4.96! The flavors come in different sizes to fit your needs and it doesn’t take much at all to make a liter of Soda! (Oh, this is killing me saying soda in this review…Its Pop to me!) An 8oz serving is 35 calories only, of the Fountain Mist!! Yeah!! (2% sodium,0 fat,3% total carbs, Sugars 8g)
A liter of Soda takes approximately 3 minutes to make, which is awesome! When my kids came over they each had to try their own flavors, so it was no problem at all to make everyone happy in their taste choice. You just fill the bottle up to the line with regular water, push the carbonation button until you hear a buzz about a second or 2, add your flavoring, put lid on, and gently rock the bottle back and forth! Wallah! Soda is ready!
My Grandson is in love with the Root Beer, as we made him a root beer float and had root beer on the side for his enjoyment. My son had the Orange and said he couldn’t taste any difference at all then regular soda, and my daughter had the Dr.Pete again, with no complaints!
The money we have saved already with our SodaStream vs buying regular Soda is kind of embarrassing! The recycling has been cut way down also in our home, which is fantastic!Â
You can also make sparkling waters with the SodaStream Machine, there are different flavors to add to that also, so you can satisfy your own taste buds for the spur of the moment treat. I personally am not a fan of sparkling waters, but I am a huge fan of flavored waters!
