Working from home comes with many perks. Be mindful of your snacking
Having 24/7 access to the fridge might seem like an absolute dream at first, but it can soon turn sour. You may not realize it at the time, but you could end up visiting your kitchen an unnecessary amount of times every day, snacking constantly. It can become quite mindless, and before you know it you’re no longer fitting into your jeans. Try and be mindful of how often you head to the kitchen, and ask yourself why you are doing it. Are you eating because you’re genuinely hungry, or is it because you are bored? Make a tally of your kitchen visits and implement set mealtimes, just as you would as if you were in an office. You will soon get back in control of your diet and will feel much better for it, too.
Get a home gym
Who says you have to buy a gym membership just to get in shape? Working from home can make it hard to find the time to get out to your local sports center, so consider bringing the gym to you instead. Home gym equipment comes in all shapes and sizes so you can find the right equipment to meet your physical needs. It doesn’t even need to be electrical equipment – weights and multi-stations are all you really need to create the perfect home workout. Go out for a walk
One of the common symptoms of working from home is cabin fever. You can easily start to feel trapped by your four walls, which can, in turn, make you lethargic and lacking in motivation. Try and make time to head out on a walk every day, even if it’s only for twenty minutes. A short trip around the block will make all the difference to both your mood and your health, especially if the sun is shining. It will also serve as a pleasant break from your job, so you can return to work after feeling refreshed and ready to knuckle down.
