If you’re already a tea drinker, you won’t need any convincing with why it’s good, although you may be surprised with some of the benefits it actually has.
Not only does tea come in a variety of different flavors, blends, origins and essences, but it’s so good for you. The benefits vary depending on the type of tea you plan on drinking, but here are a number of examples of why everyone should be drinking more tea nowadays.
Builds up endurance
The antioxidants found in specifically green tea, called catechins, increase the ability to burn away fat as you exercise, but all while using it as fuel, essentially improving your muscle endurance during your workouts, or any physical activity you get up to.
Reduce the risk of heart attacks
This is because it is used to help protect the heart from many different cardiovascular and degenerative diseases.
Protects against cancers
Because of the antioxidants found, tea can help reduce your chances of getting an array of different cancers such as skin, colon, lung, breast cancer and many more. Although this is by no means a cure or 100% prevention, so never just rely on drinking tea to keep you healthy.
Destroys free radicals
Free radicals are what can damage your DNA within the body. Our bodies are designed to fight against these naturally, but we don’t necessarily always win. Drinking tea can help with the battle because it’s high in oxygen radical absorbance capacity (also known as ORAC.) So take the help when it’s given.
Better for you than coffee
There are traces of caffeine in tea, but nowhere near as much as you would find in coffee. So if you are a regular coffee drinker, try switching out your espresso machine for the best tea kettle, and get brewing your own different flavors.
Lowers the risk of Parkinson’s disease
When drinking tea was added to various different types of people with different habits (good and bad), tea was associated with having a lower risk of the disease in different ages of men and women.
Protects from UV rays
There are many different ultraviolet rays out there that cause harm to us by damaging our skin and burning us. Green tea can actually act as a form of sunscreen by the ingredients it contains. It can also help you recover from radiation by protecting your cellular degeneration, while also helping your skin repair itself.
Keeps you slim
Drinking hot tea on a regular basis can lower the circumference of your waist, as well as your body mass index. This is because of the effect the antioxidants have on your body, while the heat helps break down any extra fat.
So as you can see, there are plenty of different health benefits from drinking tea, whether that be internally or externally. But one of the main reasons is just because it tastes so good! And although you may not like green tea, you may love jasmine and rose. There are so many selections out there, so keeping trying until one gets you in that sweet spot.
