Think about giving it a new look with a matt finish in a pastel shade to make it really stand out from the crowd. After you have finished, you could add the finishing touches by replacing the house number.

Before purchase, work out what type of walls you have. Brick or concrete walls will require heavy duty wall plugs, while stud walls either allow you to either screw into the stud. It’s worth spending a little extra on decent quality fittings. Before doing anything, you need to know whether the wall contains any pipes or cables. Next, mark the position of your brackets and use a spirit level to ensure they are even. Drill the holes and mount the brackets with screws and plugs. Finally, you are ready to put up the shelf screwing in the brackets for additional rigidity.
